Blue-glazed sarcophagus with human mask figure
Clay. Susa. 1st-3rd century A.D. Height 17.8 cm. Private collection, Tokyo. It was a part of a figure representing a god made to decorate the lid of a ceramic sarcophagus. The clay was mixed with fibers for greater strength.
